Creating Lasting Impressions

Founded in 1948 by the Discalced Carmelites, St. Joseph’s Press in Trivandrum has grown from modest beginnings to become a pioneer in advanced printing technology in Kerala.

Humble Beginnings to Industry Leaders

St. Joseph's Press Trivandrum, is owned by the Malabar Province of the Order of the Discalced Carmelites. Founded in 1948, the press began with modest resources, including two Treadle Machines and a small collection of types in Malayalam and English. Over the past many decades, it has evolved into a well-established brand in the printing industry, responding to technological advancements and the changing demands of the market, while being committed to its service to the people.

We fondly recollect the growth trajectory of the Press

• 1950s: Hand composing and Treadle presses

• 1960s: Automatic cylinder press and block making

• 1970s: Lithographic printing

• 1980s: Photo-typesetting and large format offset presses

• 1990s: Computer typesetting and multi-colour offset printing

• 2000s: Computer-to-Plate (CTP) and multi-colour web offset printing

St. Joseph's Press has earned a reputation for producing high-quality printed materials that meet international standards. It has consistently been committed to timely delivery and superior craftsmanship, as evidenced by over 100 awards for excellence in printing, both at the national and state levels. The press handles projects of all sizes, from a dozen visiting cards, to a few hundreds of leaflets or brochures to books and magazines running into thousands of copies, ensuring quality, commitment and precision in every job.
